Killing Unicows – 400k-600k/h

Hi everyone, I have a money making guide for you this week, so lets get into it.

We will be killing Unicows in the basement of the tower of life.  These monsters drop Unicorn horns, and, if you have at least the Ardougne Cloak 1, they will drop noted horns as well.  However, these monsters are unusual in that they do not just spawn, you must put a unicorn horn and a cowhide(hence ‘Unicow’) into an altar and then the monster will spawn for you to kill.

Requirements

-Tower of Life quest

-Ardougne Cloak 1

-40+ combat

The Method

Firstly, go to the Grand Exchange and buy a unicorn horn, and 100 cowhides(which will last you an hour).  Take 1 horn and 27 cowhides (using a BOB to carrymore cowhides is beneficial).

Also get out and wear a ring of kinship, a Tokkul-zo, a RoD, or any item that can teleport you to a bank.  Then, get your combat gear, which by no means has to be awesome, and use your cloak to to teleport to the monastery.

Go out of the monastery and head east to the tower of life,

and go down the trapdoor inside.

Go into the northwest corner of the basement and ‘activate’ the altar of life.

Go through the chat messages and the Unicow will appear. TAKE OFF YOUR CLOAK BEFORE YOU KILL IT FOR THE FIRST TIME! This is because the although the cloak is great, it will cause a lot of the drops to be noted, and you don’t want to have to go to the bank to unnote.  Thus, the stratagy is, when you’ve just used the last unnoted horn in your inventory, take off your cloak so that the drop will be unnoted.  Keep in mind that the Cloak makes some of the drops noted, not all.  Either way, you should never have to buy more than one unicorn horn.

Once done your first kill, pick up the horns that dropped and activate the altar again, kill the Unicow again, and again, until you are out of cowhides.  Then, teleport to a bank, deposit your loot, and withdraw 1 horn and 27 hides, and off you go again.

The method is as simple as that!  Here are the calculations…

you will use ~200-350 cowhides per hour(the higher your BOB is, the more you’ll be able to do)

you will always receive at least two horns per hide

Horns are about 900GP right now, and they are recovering from a price drop

200 cowhides is ~60k currently, and we won’t count the horn you had to buy at the start

so, the lowest amount of money that can be made with this method is:

2002 X 90060,000= 300k

Not so good, but as I said(and I want to be completely honest) this is the LEAST amount of money you can make.  And horns are, almost definitely, going to rise in price soon.

So, now let’s focus on the bright side. I would think that you would need at least a bull ant(6 item BOB) and good concentration to get this amount.

350 X 2 X 900105,000=525K!

And, this is only halfway up the ladder!  I have not taken into account in these calculations luck, as, though you will get at least 2 horns per hide, you can also get up to 3.5!(I say 3.5, not 4, because you need to use some horns to make unicows)

Thanks for reading, and hopefully you try this out :D

    Hey,

Nice guide I do know this method of money making,
although when I used to perform it I made way more profit.

For me the maximum I was able to reach was about 1.2m per hour.

But thats probably because prices changed :)
Because Unicorn Horns where 2,5k each when I did it :)

    Still nice guide :)
