Carnillean Rising: Extras – Up to 42k free XP + 200k GP
Good day to you all. In this EPIC runescape guide, I shall guide you through the extra rewards that you can get for completing the quest Carnillean Rising. There are 2 main extra rewards that can be gained aftger the quest. They are:
- XP lamps worth a total of 42k XP that you get from finding Philipe at different locations around Runescape.
- killing the Cave wolf Matriarch in the sewers, getting her skull, and trading it to the chef for loot worth about 200k.
XP lamps
We’ll start off with finding philipe. There are six locations where philipe is found after the quest, and basically how it works is you talk to him at the first location, he’ll give you a lamp, and then you have to use it before he appears at the next location. Sir Ceril will give you hints to where he is if you ask him, but as its not required to do this, I won’t really be going over what he says. Each location requires a higher amount of quest points for philipe to appear. Most of the locations also require a quest to access. The locations have to be accessed in order as well.
Location #1: Combat Camp northwest of Ardougne : 50 QPs : Biohazard – philipe will be directly west of the entrance. On the map, I have marked where he is on the X. He’ll give you a 2k XP lamp.]
Location #2: Mountain Camp east of rellaka : 100 QPs – Not much to say on this one. He at the entrance of the mountain camp 
. Here he’ll give you a 5k lamp.
Location #3: Shilo Village Inn : 150 QPs : Shilo Village – as clarification, you’ll need to complete the quest shilo village. On the map, the X marks a ladder, go up it and then buy a Paramaya ticket from the NPC up there. To do this, talk to him about buying something, and then select ‘ a night’s rest’ for 35 gp. Go up the next ladder(you’ll need the ticket), Philipe is in the room to the west. He’ll give you a 5k lamp.
Location #4: Port Phasmatys Inn : 200 QPs – if you’ve not completed the quest Ghosts Ahoy(which is very unlikely seeing how my quest points this location requires), you’ll need to pay the gatekeepers 25 ectotokens to get into the town. Philipe will give you a 10k lamp this time.
Location #5: Lowest floor of the polypore dungeon near the ramokee skinweaver : 250 QPs – if you don’t know how to get to the dungeon, or how to navigate it, check out the wiki page here : http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Polypore_Dungeon . philipe gives you a 10k XP lamp.
Location #6: Oldak’s laboratory in Dorgesh- Kaan : 300 Qps : Another Slice of H.A.M. – Oldak’s place is on the ground floor, in the northeast corner. Philipe will give you a 10k lamp.
And those are all the locations! apparently, however, when we can get 350 and 400 quest points, philipe will appear at 2 new locations.
Cave Wolf Matriarch
Now on the Cave Wolf Matriarch, its a level 283 monster that’s pretty hard to beat. You’ll find her where she was when Philipe fought her in the sewers underneath Carnillean mansion. To get to her, you’ll first need to talk to the chef in the basement and he’ll tell you to kill her.
BUT, there is a really easy way to beat her that only requires a bit of food, and a poisoned weapon. That’s right. we’re doing it cheap. Simply poison the Wolf and get out of her range( aka leave the room) and wait for her to die.
If you’re not for that, you’ll should have good gear in your chosen style and fairly good combat stats. If you’re meleeing, you’ll pray against magic and just tank her other attacks. If you’re maging or ranging, you’ll take less damage, but since her special magic attack is area based and isn’t blocked by prayers, you’ll need to run around the room as you attack her.
Once she’s dead, take the skull she drops and give it to the chef. He’ll give you choice between 2000 pure ess, 3500 flax, 200 dragon scale dust, or100unicorn horn dust. currently, the best one to choose in terms of value is the flax, at about 200k.
