Basic Guide to Flipping!
I. Finding an Item to Flip: When finding an item to flip their are three main things you need to think about.
- How useful is the item?
- How many can/could I buy?
- Can it be brought from shops for less then in the G.E?
II. How to choose the item: Once you’ve thought of an item that will be useful to flip you will first want to buy one at a higher price. This is to see what price you will need to buy/sell the item when your flipping. You may lose a little bit of gp for the first flip but you will easily make it back.
Calculating the Prices
Buy 1 or 10 of the item way over market price. In this case I bought 10 whips.

Divide the above amount by 10 to find the selling price per whip. Take a few GP off the price to speed up sales.
Next, sell the items, in this case, whips, dirt cheap.

Divide the above amount of coins by 10, this will be our buying price per whip. Add a few GP on to speed up the buying rate.

Now follow the steps above with your items, and buy up to the GE/4 hour limit. Once you have sold the items, you can start the cycle again.
III. Switching Items: With flipping you will need to change items quite a lot because some items you can only buy a set amount (e.g. 10 an hour) so it is good to have three of four different items to flip at once. Here are some items that are easy to flip.
- Toktz-ket-xil
- Armadyl Godsword
- Dragon Claws
- Bandos Godsword
- Obsidian Cape
- Robin Hood Hat
- Whips
IV. Checking Prices: World 2 is very good to find items to flip, you should go to the Grand Exchange and many people will be buying/selling items you are looknig to flip, if the price they’re selling is A LOT lower then the G.E price it is best to stay away but if its close or more then the G.E you should easily be able to flip them.
V. Practising: Make sure when you start you only flip cheaper items, do not put all your GP into ONE item because if it crashes you will lose a lot of money. Start with items that cost something about 100k and make your way up.

did you mean to have the pics of buying 100 and selling 10? and maybe you could add some cheaper items, for those of us who dont have 100s of millions (COUGH*aga*COUGH)
Yeah I brought 10, was going to test with 100 but only 10 brought so I just went with it..
Some cheaper items are things like DDS, Dragon Equipment, Shark, other food.
Hope u dont mind Fang, but i changed the images and a bit of text in your guide to make it a bit clearer.
Yeah no problem, been struggling to do anything lately been extremely busy IRL.
btw… you didnt put a list of items f2p players should use do you mind if you add one ?
Sure I can add one or two, basically swordies, rune items, god sets, or rares.
for those starting out, I used to use feathers. they’re good for trying flipping out
in my opinion i found that this guide wasnt very easy to follow.
if you think about it this guild is a rly nice 1, as you can use it on nearly every item you buy/sell. this guide improved my money methode from 4.2m/hr to 6.5m/hr. so ill thank you
im confused about how much i should raise the price when i first start out? also, do i always divide the amount of money by 10, or does it vary for the amount of stuff i buy
Overall I thought it was a great guide.
Tyler: a tip I usually use is buying one at 5% below the market price, and if it sells right away, then I will usually add10-15gp to the market price for a low leveled item and 10-15k for a medium priced item, etc.
